ASSIGNMENT ONE

DRAWING SUBJECT
A TABLE WITH OBJECTS

"Following the same procedures practiced in the in-class exercise, you are asked to construct 4 line drawings (profile/outline, contour, blind contour, and negative space/shape), and a series of thumbnail sketches on 1 Plate - 18” x 24” of your studio desk or dining table or night/side table. Quarter the plate with drawn horizontal and vertical lines – one rectangle for each drawing technique. Each rectangle should contain one of the four drawing techniques accompanied by a set of small studies. Consider the space and composition (the area around and in-between) the subject matter. The table and objects from which you observe and draw can be a dormitory room with a table, bedroom with a table, living room with a table. The subject matter (i.e. objects on a table) is no more than 5-7 objects."
